Phoenix Feeding Therapy offers evaluation and therapy services to children ages birth to 16 with impaired oral intake that is not age-appropriate and is associated with medical, nutritional, feeding skill, and/or psychosocial dysfunction.
Following a comprehensive oral-motor/feeding evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is created to address the child’s difficulties through a close partnership with the family. To best meet the child’s needs and treat the child as a whole, Phoenix Feeding Therapy develops a plan of care that offers guided support, parental education, and a collaborative effort with other healthcare providers.
Feeding therapy focuses on improving oral motor skills, expanding the child’s food repertoire, becoming comfortable with the textures of a variety of foods, developing feeding skills, and increasing intake to maintain weight and nutritional needs. At Phoenix Feeding Therapy, an authentic mealtime setting offers an opportunity for exploration and learning in order to develop a healthy relationship with food and eating.
